“If You Could Help Yourself, Would You?”

Recently, I saw a solo ad for a business opportunity with a colleague of mine and the headline was, “If you could help yourself, would you?”  I thought it was a brilliant advertisement.  And very telling, because more often than not the answer is, “Well, yes but…”  In other words, “No.”

When solutions and opportunities

are right in front of us, why do we so often insist on looking elsewhere?  Why do we immediately think of why it won’t work, or why we can’t do it, or we try to find something else, anything else, other than what is readily available?

If I could wish just one thing for those who are unhappy, feeling scared, stuck or unsure of themselves, it would be this:  Study with Bob Proctor.  He is one of the most dynamic, spirited and insightful teachers I’ve been with on my journey of life-long learning.  His teachings are so clear and practical and speak to us right where we live.  The reason I can make this sweeping statement with such confidence is that what Bob teaches is universal.  It is applicable to you if you are a human being with thoughts and feelings who lives in this world.  Period.  I learned more from Bob in a week-end seminar about the human mind and heart, than I did in my post-graduate studies in pastoral counseling.  And the insights continue to be many and meaningful as I remain committed to my on-going studies with him.

I’m sure you’ve seen the sign with the international circle and line through it that says,  “No Whining.”  For years I often wished I could find a more effective way to “speak the truth in love” to someone who is hurting, afraid, or perennially negative.  Today I know what to say.  Because the truth is no one needs to live like that. The fact is that we choose our thoughts; our thoughts cause our feelings; and our feelings determine our actions.  Each one of our actions, by universal law, causes an equal and opposite reaction, which subsequently gives us the results we have in our lives.  I have learned this from studying with Bob, who asserts, if you want to change your results then change your thoughts.  But more than that, I have experienced the transformative power of his teachings as I daily put into practice these laws and strive to live in harmony with them.

To the naysayers, I would simply respond, “Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.”  Because frankly, if you honestly and wholeheartedly try it, you won’t be able to do anything but embrace it and grow.  If, however, you aren’t willing to try, then please don’t repeatedly pour out your woes to me.  I am in the empowerment and solutions business, and will go all out for those willing to try, to take action, to brave change. These are the individuals with whom I choose to spend my time and these are the people who energize and inspire me every single day.

Now, if you don’t want to accept responsibility for your thoughts, choices and actions, or if you are unwilling to hold yourself accountable, that is a different matter.  However, please realize that regardless of your attitudes, the immutable laws of the Universe are still operative.  The very purpose and thrust of nature is the advancement, fuller expression, and development of life.  As Wallace D. Waddles observes, “You naturally want to become all that you are capable of becoming; this desire to realize innate possibilities is inherent in human nature.  Success in life is becoming what you want to be.”  So if you truly want to gain sparkling insights into how to enhance your life and enliven your world, and you are open to transformational learning, then I invite you to join with me in the joy of deep discovery and heighted personal development.  Sign up now at http://bit.ly/Secret-to-YourSuccess

The Power of Choice and the Promise of Increase

“What’s it all about, Alfie?”  In this classic hit by Burt Bacharach, it poses the question, “Are we meant to take more than we give; or are we meant to be kind”?  Today, as then, it is all about one’s values and choices.

Shoot emerging from a pumpkin seed

But the kicker here, which can easily be misunderstood or overlooked, is that choice is a function of one’s awareness. Often the choices we observe being made would indicate a very limited or self-centered kind of awareness.  We see individuals making choices that indicate their intention is to take more than they are giving, and these choices lead to actions which are devoid of kindness.  Or they are not even really choosing; they are merely reacting out of habit or old patterns, to whatever circumstances present themselves from moment to moment.  Consequently, these individuals are clearly unhappy and don’t have any real awareness of what it’s all about.

It makes me sad when I see good people who are unhappy and unfulfilled in their personal and professional lives. Especially since life does not have to be this way. Because each one of us has the God-given ability to choose the way we live, and to shape our own destiny.  We have free will.  We have the capacity to develop great intelligence; to observe the precise and patterned wonders of nature; and to study the sciences, as well as the wisdom of theology, philosophy and psychology.  And if we choose to learn, and to align ourselves with the universal, spiritual principles which govern our universe, we can profoundly influence the course of our lives. In the same way a tender shoot emerges from its seed and grows as it was designed to, we can emerge from our defenses, our hurts, our fears and various limitations, and whatever else constitutes our shell, to become all we are designed and uniquely created to be.

It has always puzzled me why people who are unhappy with their present circumstances don’t make a change.  Is it really easier for some people to continually make excuses and to blame others rather than to be self-determining?  Why would someone prefer to be a victim rather than to take responsibility for their previous choices and actions, thereby empowering themselves to move forward?  Why would anyone choose to continually squeak about their problems, instead of acknowledging them and finding solutions?  I do understand the dynamic that ‘we don’t know what we don’t know.’  Meaning we can’t always address something if we are unaware of its causes.  But we do know when we are unhappy, and we can seek help and support.  I remember asking a pastoral counseling colleague many years ago about an expression she would sometimes use during conversations with me.  At the time the saying was unfamiliar to me, so I asked what it meant.  She explained that she didn’t have a lot of patience for people who didn’t take responsibility for themselves.  This is what she meant when she’d say, “I don’t suffer fools gladly.”  I understand her feelings.  I have a difficult time relating to individuals who are willing to complain and yet are unwilling to change. On the other hand, when they are ready to make a meaningful change, I am willing to be of assistance.

We have the power to choose, the ability to learn and the capacity to change and to grow.  There is so much for which to be grateful, and so much to offer others when we ourselves are filled to overflowing.  This is why I am passionate about coaching those who are motivated and want more for themselves, their families, their friends and their communities.  This is why I am committed to helping others become more aware of what it’s all about, so those who truly want to change their lives can make informed, and even inspired, choices.  Choices that honor and enhance life, give value and lead to increase.  As the universal, spiritual principles indicate, the universe is always for expansion and increase.  If we live in harmony with these laws we will experience happiness and abundance, and seek opportunities to give back.  Like the law of gravity, the other laws or universal, spiritual principles are operative whether we believe in them or not. And as the song says we’ll even be able to offer, “…something even non-believers can believe in.”

Buffalo Medicine and the Power of Gratitude

center of sunflower

A few days ago I reached into my purse, took out my wallet and removed a coin.  It was a quarter.  I was delighted to see that on one side it says Kansas 1861, and has the image of a beautiful buffalo. There are also three sunflowers, much smaller in size.  We, too, have an abundance of sunflowers, often called sunburts, here in New Mexico.  I think they are lovely.

Both the great state of Kansas and the prominent river running through it, are named after the Kansa (Kaw) Indians who hunted bison across its vast plains and cultivated its fertile lands. Buffalo provided the major source of sustenance for the Plains Indians.  Meat for food; hides for clothing and coverings; and from the hooves glue was made.

I am drawn to buffalo, and find them to be both stately and magnificent.  This past week-end we headed to Santa Fe to have  breakfast at Tecolote, one of our favorite restaurants.  I had atole (blue cornmeal) and pinon pancakes. They are my favorite!  And this time was no exception; they were fabulous.

On the southwest outskirts of Santa Fe there is a small congregation of buffalo, often visible from the Turquoise Trail.  We saw them on the way to breakfast and, as always, seeing them made my heart sing.

In native traditions, all animals are sacred; yet for many the white buffalo is the most sacred.  White buffalo often symbolize abundance. It is said in the Medicine Cards that, “The medicine of Buffalo is prayer, gratitude and praise for that which has been received.  Buffalo medicine is also knowing that abundance is present when all relations are honored as sacred, and when gratitude is expressed to every living part of creation.”

In the teachings of Bob Proctor, the power and place of gratitude is reminiscent of this native understanding.  Gratitude keeps us connected with power; because when you express gratitude which is directed to and reaches God, then God (the Supreme Power or Great Spirit) in turn responds with a spontaneous movement toward you. This is how it is that the movement of our heart’s desire will always be toward us.  Gratitude alone can keep you looking toward the Infinite and keep you from falling into the error of thinking that supply is limited.  In other words, by focusing on and expressing our gratitude, we maintain the sure and certain knowledge that abundance is present.  Gratitude always draws our minds closer to the infinitely abundant Source, from which all blessings flow.  In one of his lessons, Mr. Proctor quotes from the most ancient of texts,  The Upanishads:

Out of Abundance,
He took Abundance,
and still Abundance remained.

Being grateful and giving thanks is a powerful spiritual practice; and the more we express our gratitude, the more we become aware of all there is for which to be grateful.  And then, even more abundance comes to us and is made manifest.  Among the countless gifts for which I am truly grateful, I am deeply thankful for the power, presence and beauty of buffalo in my life.  And for what they symbolize.

How is Life Responding to You?

Never lose touch with your sense of wonder

“Life is a mirror – if you frown at it, it frowns back;

If you smile at it, it returns the greeting.”

We went out for Chinese food last night, and the above saying was nestled inside my fortune cookie.  I thought this was a timely message, since I am studying the natural laws of the universe, and the sentiment in the fortune cookie reflects the wisdom of the Law of Cause and Effect.  As Waddles explains it, “It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects.” In other words, a certain type of cause (or action) will produce the exact same type of effect (or reaction).  You smile at life and life will smile back at you.

I think we all know people who are joyful and who see blessings all around them.  They are grateful folks, and consequently they are always being favored with more.  This is not a coincidence; this is by law. Sadly, we also know individuals who are downcast, negative, and who always seem to be blaming others for their circumstances; and consequently, it’s as if things never seem to go their way. This doesn’t just happen by coincidence; this is by law.

This is precisely why it is so important that we learn how to live in harmony with the laws of the universe, and then do so consistently, with conscious intent.  We can certainly choose to go along, being basically happy or basically unhappy.  Many, if not most, people do so year after year.  Yet there are those who sense that something is missing; who have some inkling that there is more out there; who feel something stirring inside them, about which they are curious. And indeed there is more: much more.

We have been endowed with free will.  We have the power to choose.  With the power of choice comes being responsible for our choices and our actions.  This is a far-reaching gift, because it means if we are unhappy we have the capacity to change.  For those who are caught up in blaming others for their circumstances, they will resist this.  Yet, for those who are open, they will understand that within this realization lies true freedom and power.

To live in harmony with the laws of the universe, we must intimately know them, and honor their ways by being in close communion and accord.  We need to remember that they are always operative; they never rest, nor do they ever change.  To have life respond to us the way we want it to, we must understand that the law of attraction is always working.   Therefore, as Waddles explains, one must ”Think it…feel it…do it…and you will attract it.  This is ‘The Great Secret of Life.’”

The Path to Predictable Results: Vision, Purpose, Faith and Gratitude

“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.”

These words of T.S. Eliot have held special meaning for me for many decades. And never more so than today; I find them prophetic.

My history includes having travelled far and wide as part of my studies and explorations.  I have floated down the sacred river Ganges in Benares, India amid a throng of thousands of other seekers, bathers and worshippers. It is a holy place, where it is said every devout Hindu yearns to visit at least once in their lifetime. Awash in the silver light of a full summer moon, I’ve chanted and prayed within the inner chambers of the Taj Mahal: its majestic white marble bathed in moonlight was breathtakingly beautiful.  I have entered the Sikh temple at Amritsar, all gold and gleaming with near-blinding brightness in the hot sun. At the Buddh Gaya Shrine, where it is said that Buddha made a vow to attain enlightenment while seated under this papal tree, I touched the aged, stately bo tree, and gazed up at the massive expanse of its branches, dappled in sunlight, imaging that long ago time.

I’ve prayed long, wept openly and sung softly at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, standing in the women’s section with my forehead and palms pressed against the warm, ancient stone.  Every crack and crevice within these massive blocks of limestone is stuffed with countless pieces of paper: each one different, each one containing a prayer.  I have been roused by the resounding call, repeatedly issued forth from a minaret.  It is the sound which summons faithful Muslims to prayer, with an insistent, magnetic power.  I have been an awe-struck visitor to the Dome of the Rock, sacred shrine of Islam.

I’ve read aloud the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, savoring each word, energized and saturated with wonder, as I stood on the peaceful shore of the Sea of Galilee. And I have stood gazing at the ancient Acoma pueblo under an expanse of New Mexico sky so blue it seemed impenetrable, and felt the spirits of the native peoples now past.

Last week-end Billi and I attended the first Six Minutes to Success Summit in Scottsdale, AZ.  This remarkable event was inspired and brought about by Lanny and Deena Morton and their wonderful staff at Six Minutes to Success.  I love words, and yet they seem inadequate as I try to come up with ones I can employ to express how this experience changed me, brought me back home to myself, and helped me know that inner place, as if for the first time. The once-in-a-lifetime line-up of presenters was in itself highly impressive: Bob Proctor, Frank Kern, Les Brown, Bob Davies, Doug Wead and Cynthia Kersey.

If only there were a way you could see the pulsating waves of excitement, splashed across this page; if you could hear the whir and whoosh of planets coursing through the heavens, following their right and perfect paths; and if you could feel the energy teeming within each sentence as you read it, then perhaps you would get a sense of the power and exhilaration I experienced. You would have some notion of how my world looks now. And how your awareness could be heightened and enhanced so that you’d feel it, too.

Bob Proctor is nothing less than brilliant.  He is attuned to the natural laws, and he is highly aware of our universe and how it operates.  He knows, “The Secret.” He has devoted his life to studying the precise and predictable laws of the universe, and he has mastered them.  His energy, his keen perceptiveness, and his compassion are palpable.  Wallace Wattles explains that the best definition of Natural Law is that, “It is the uniform and orderly method of the omnipotent God.”  These Laws include:

  • The Law of Perpetual Transmutation
  • The Law of Relativity
  • The Law of Vibration
  • The Law of Polarity
  • The Law of Rhythm
  • The Law of Cause and Effect
  • The Law of Gender

This teaching is for me, the final piece of the puzzle; it answers the questions which have lingered after immersing myself in philosophy, Eastern religion and Christian theology for those aforementioned decades.  I feel I have arrived where I started and finally know the place for the first time.  Studying with Bob Proctor is giving me the clearest, most comprehensive material I’ve ever encountered in order to expand my levels of awareness and further deepen my profound, joyful and resolute faith, with the promise of more to come.

20/20 vision is considered normal and perfect for navigating in our world as a human being.  Imagine if one eye had the capability of an electron microscope and the other had the capability of a high energy particle telescope…we would be stopped in our tracks.  Awareness, perception, and the abilities and limitations of our five senses are fascinating to ponder.

We were raised to trust external influences and live from the outside in.  One of the transformative aspects of this teaching is to enable us to start living from the inside out.  On the path to predictable results, we can tap into the power within us that is greater than any condition, circumstance or external perception.

The only scarcity which exists in our limitlessly abundant universe is awareness.  As Wallace Waddles explains, “Knowledge is continually increasing. Every talent we cultivate brings to the mind the desire to cultivate another talent.  We are subject to the urge of life. In seeking expression for this urge, we are impelled to know more, to do more, and to be more.”  The essence of this expansion is expressed through faith, purpose and gratitude.

As the late Golden Rule Jones stated, “What I want for myself, I want for everybody.”  This is the way of creative increase, as opposed to a competitive approach.  As Waddles puts it, “It is inherent in the constitution of the cosmos that all things shall be for your advancing and work together for your good.”  Or, as the apostle Paul states, “All things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to God’s purpose.”

And Waddles points out, “It is not your part to guide or supervise the creative process.  All you have to do with that is retain your vision, stick to your purpose, and maintain your faith and gratitude.”  In this way, you will begin to live in harmony with the laws of the universe and experience greater and greater increase in your life.

Look Up Into the Night Skies: The Firmament is Telling Us Something

The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims God’s handiwork.

Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge.

…The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul…      (excerpts for Ps. 19:1)

Bob Proctor teaches that the laws of the universe are immutable, and that once we learn to live in harmony with them our lives will quickly change.  He clearly and succinctly explains how the 7 most powerful negative and 7 most positive emotions work in our lives, and more importantly, how we can control them.  Taken from Napoleon Hill’s seminal work, we are told that we cannot simultaneously hold in our minds both a negative and a positive thought.  This is literally true. Now, when I find myself experiencing a negative thought, or feeling a negative emotion, I immediately begin thinking about all of the things in my life for which I am deeply grateful.  I express my heartfelt wonder and appreciation for these gifts, blessings, accomplishments, etc.  Through practice and commitment this has become almost second nature to me now.

I love the sun-splashed days here in New Mexico, and the feel of the air.  It is like warm satin on my skin and it simply feels delicious.  I love being outside with our doggies, and working in our gardens. And during this time of year we eat most of our meals out on the portal in our front courtyard.  But here, I also love being outside at night. While living in California, I used to almost always be inside at night.  For whatever reason, I was typically snug indoors enjoying a heated house and thankful not to be in the damp chill of night.

Here, during this time of year, it is as if I am drawn outside by an almost magnetic force.  I love the air, and the clear sparkling skies; the silence and the radiant celestial bodies overhead. Because we live in the mountains, and our utilities are buried, we are surrounded by acres and acres of land with no power lines and no street lights. We experience what I affectionately refer to as bucolic blackness.  So, on clear nights (we have about 350 a year) the stars are bright and seem so close.  Their prominence in the night sky and in my little part of world seem to demand attention and elicit renewed appreciation and awe. They are truly glorious.

There are celestial bodies and there are terrestrial bodies…There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.    (excerpts from I Cor. 15:40-41)

So, I often find myself outside at night; looking up and admiring God’s handiwork.  I am learning more about those immutable laws of the universe, and living in deeper accord with that understanding.  It is enlivening and the sense of discovery and personal empowerment is remarkable. It is energizing beyond anything I have previously experienced.

When I was younger, because my Dad worked in aerospace, I met several of the early astronauts.  Hearing their stories was always spellbinding for me, and fairly inconceivable.  Today, I have a much greater appreciation for some of those memories.

Scientist Wernher Von Braun is known for his famous observation,

“The natural laws of the universe are so precise that we have no difficulty building a spaceship to fly to the moon and can time the flight with the precision of a fraction of a second.”

These immutable laws of the universe are omnipresent and they are active in our lives whether or not we are aware of them. Probably 98% of the population have no idea that these laws are available to us, let alone know what they are. They are not taught as part of any traditional education. Neither my degree in Philosophy, with an emphasis in Eastern Thought, nor my Master of Divinity degree covered these laws.  It was not until I became an entrepreneur and began an intensive course of study in “mindset” that I learned about the Law of Attraction and began studying with Bob Proctor.  Now, I am fulfilling my life’s dream and following the sage advice of Earl Nightingale who said,

Get into a line that you will find to be of deep personal interest, something you really enjoy spending twelve to fifteen hours a day working at, and the rest of the time thinking about.

This is exactly what I’m doing, by being an entrepreneur and Internet marketer.  And much more than a line of work, as John Jackson says, “This isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.”  To learn more about the rare opportunity to work with Bob Proctor, visit http://bit.ly/SuccesswithBobProctor

Some Native Lessons from the Hawk

Jamie Sams and David Carson have written an insightful book entitled, Medicine Cards: the Discovery of Power through the Ways of Animals. For the past 19 years, some dear friends and I have “drawn” a card at the beginning of each New Year, as a way to expand our self-understanding and awareness of the world around us.

Animal Medicine is a powerful concept in the Native American tradition, and I continue to learn a great deal from these teachings about the meaning of how to “walk in beauty” and to “walk in balance on the Mother Earth.”  In the Native traditions, medicine refers to anything which improves one’s connection to “the Great Mystery” and to all of life.  Various animals have patterns which contain messages of healing for those who closely observe the lessons they convey.

Hawk medicine holds great responsibility, and has a keen view of the world.  According to the authors, if Hawk has in some way appeared to you, “…you are to be aware of signals in your life – so notice and receive them.  Hawk may be teaching you to grab an opportunity which is coming your way.  On the other hand, Hawk may be bringing you the message that you should circle over your life, and examine it from a higher perspective.  From this vantage point you may be able to discern the hazards which bar you from freedom of flight.”  The lesson here to remember is that Hawk “has a keen eye and a bold heart.”

What hawk medicine symbolizes, for me, something I deeply wish for you.  I wish for you freedom of flight: or put another way – financial, time and geographic freedom.  My hope for you is that you’ll be able to soar in your chosen field; and to have a keen eye in order to see all the beauty there is to be found within and around you.  And I wish for you a bold heart in the face of all the challenges and obstacles life might present to you.

There are so many ways we can enrich our lives, deepen our understanding, and serve others.  The next time you see a hawk soaring overhead, or in a picture, or even hear one’s distant cry, think about its message and how it might be speaking to you.  Calling you to go higher, become freer, be bold of heart and keen in perspective.  It’s up to you.

Are you perhaps  missing signals in your life?  Or not paying close enough attention to stirrings within you which are signalling that it is time to make a change?  Now might be a time to pay  close attention.  Could you be better served by adopting a different view, and embracing a bolder heart?

“Work, Love & Genius: Two Essential Elements for Success”

“Work is love made visible.  And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.”

These words by Kahlil Gibran have long resonated within me; yet perhaps never more so than now. Through several decades I have held positions, and provided service, doing work I loved.  And even when the work went beyond challenging to frustrating, I still loved the people with whom I worked (or most of them anyway).

Today I am wholeheartedly engaged in a most exciting enterprise, which is quite different from my former career in some respects.  And I can tell you that being an Internet marketer and coach has become an all-consuming passion. It calls upon all of my previous experiences, skills and learning, and beyond that I am being stretched and enlivened and educated in whole new realms of thought and action-taking endeavors.  It has been said that in order to be successful in this industry it is 90% mindset and 10% skill-set.  I wholeheartedly believe this to be true.  That equation is weighted like a wonderful observation attributed to the great inventor Thomas Alva Edison:  “Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” And again, I support that particular math.

It is a delectable experience to be awakened to new perspectives, find oneself ushered into a state of heightened awareness, and be in possession of a newfound and accelerated level of energy.  I can’t imagine being able to successfully do this work without passion; nor can I imagine doing anything apart from this work at this point in my life.  As Napoleon Hill has made clear, “Riches do not respond to wishes.  They respond only to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant persistence.”

While I thought I had a fairly sound understanding of the meaning of persistence, I’ve since come to find out that, in fact, I did not.  I have completed all the requirements for two graduate degrees, and have accomplished many things throughout my career which certainly required a measure of persistence.  However, there are levels and degrees and I am learning by experience that much more is involved than I had previously understood.  In Think and Grow Rich, Hill explains how to develop persistence and outlines the four essential steps one must follow.  First one must have a definite purpose backed by a burning desire to fulfill it; then a definite plan, which one works by taking consistent and continuous action; a mind which is tightly closed to any and all negative and discouraging influences; and a close, harmonious alliance with at least one or more individuals who will encourage you to follow through with your stated purpose and your plan.

It seems clear that when it comes to work, love, and genius there are two essential elements that make all the difference.  These vital ingredients are passion and persistence.  So, find your passion and pursue it with zeal and relentless persistence.  For if you do, something magical will happen; there is a kind of transformative breakthrough which occurs.  It is a peak experience known to relatively few, and yet worth every sacrifice necessary to attain it.  Nike is right:  Just Do It.  Nothing else compares.

Take Time for Beauty

Billi and I have driven to the Navajo Nation a few times recently. Each time I am there, I savor the vast and rugged beauty of the sacred geography. Some people refer to being on the lands of the Southwest as, “Terrain Therapy.” I wholeheartedly agree.

It is so important to take time for beauty. It is restorative and enlivening. One of the reasons I love to take photographs, is in order to share with others  the varied beauty of all that surrounds us.

Our warp-speed world can be dizzying at times. There is so much stimulation, and so much negative news, that I believe it is more important than ever to take time for beauty; and pause for reflection.

Look within and savor the beauty you find there; and be grateful. With each deep, sweet breath, may you take in the wonder of our world and the miracle of you.

Time is precious, it is limited, we don’t know how much we’ve been allotted. Take some, just for yourself; take some just for the sheer joy of tasting the beauty within and around you.

As Bob Proctor teaches, there are immutable laws in our universe.  When we learn to live in harmony with these laws, we can significantly influence the course of our lives, and powerfully enrich our future.  It is a magnificent power, and ours is a marvelous journey. Let’s make it all it can be, and let’s make the choice to become all we were created to be.

And remember to take time for beauty.

Mere Change or Intentional Growth? It’s Up to You

Recently I made a very important choice. I made a significant commitment to myself; and embarked on a most extraordinary course of study and personal growth. This potent decision easily fits in as an integral part of my on-going passion for learning and becoming all I can be – in order to further enhance my lifestyle, relationships, and better serve and support my team members in my business. I made a choice for personal growth – and to invest in even greater self-awareness and financial freedom.

As Bob Proctor explains, “Change is inevitable but personal growth is a choice.”

This enlivening program is called, “Six Minutes to Success” with Bob Proctor. I was first introduced to Mr. Proctor in the movie, “The Secret.” I instantly liked his energy and perspective; yet what impressed me most was the clear and direct way he explained things. Like how the mind actually works; the Law of Attraction; and how there are certain irrefutable laws within nature that make things predictable and therefore attainable. He explains that these laws are so precise that we can send a man to the moon. These laws determine how everything in the universe moves; and when we understand them and learn to live in harmony with them, we can change the very course of our lives.

And having personally studied these laws over the course of this past year, I can attest to this. The changes I’ve experienced and the success I am enjoying are a direct result of incorporating this learning into my daily life and business. Which is why I have embraced this fresh, unique opportunity to learn more, go deeper, and increase my understanding of these processes – directly with Bob Proctor.

The course includes a daily video-taped lesson with Bob, and provides a few thought-provoking questions which we are to answer. All of this really can be accomplished in six minutes a day (M-F). A sample of two of the questions and my answers follows. I am sharing these in all candor to offer a glimpse of the process. The teachings about PERCEPTION, WILL, IMAGINATION, MEMORY, INTUITION and REASON are fascinating. And understanding our existing paradigm opens the way to effect real change.

Here are two of the early questions and my answers:

What inspires you?

“I am deeply inspired by learning, and all of the new-to-me concepts I’m being exposed to through my new business. My motivation to learn is heightened by the realization that the more I learn, the more I can help others succeed – which is the other thing that really inspires me. This new phase of my life is so exhilarating, and I am deeply grateful to be on this journey to success.”

What thing(s) do you not like, things that you need to stay away from?

“In the past I have allowed people who complain and are discontent, yet are unwilling to change or grow - to really bug me. Now I choose not to engage with those negative folks, and remind myself that we can’t yank a butterfly out of its cocoon. And I remember that, happily, once it starts emerging we can’t stuff it back in either! I am now seeing this as letting others be who they are, have their own process and timing (since it’s not my call anyway; or my responsibility). I have given myself permission to not be around people who aren’t willing to step up.”

If you are ready to choose abundant life, greater blessing and true personal success, I invite you to check out this powerful program.

If you are ready to fully understand where you are at this point in your journey, and honestly want to become highly intentional about where you are going, this is for you. If you are ready to stop blaming others for your situation, or if you are weary of merely going along with whatever events or circumstances present themselves to you, then you may have what it takes to excel with this transformative program. If you do check it out, I would love hearing your thoughts about it.  And remember, if you are happy where you are, then have no complaints and be grateful.  If you are not happy, then resolve to make a change for the better.  The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting a different result.  It won’t happen.   As Jim Rohn observed, “For things to change, you must change.”  And the truth is, if you are not intentionally moving forward, then you are losing ground and slipping backward.  Coasting occurs in only one direction. So step up and experience the exhilaration of heightened personal growth and absolutely delicious success.  And please, let me know how it goes!

It’s Your Move: Your New Future Impatiently Awaits

Does your stock portfolio look like it’s been visited by a plague of locusts?  Are those once six-pack abs starting to look more like a keg?  Are you spending less time reading, and more time zoning out in front of the television?  Have you lost your love of learning, and noticed that you are coasting more and more, rather than soaring?

Perhaps it’s time to reclaim your place in the scheme of things, and re-energize your life.  Maybe you are ready to shake things up and redefine who you are.  Remember what you wanted to be when you grew up?  Is that what you’ve become?  Where are you?  Can you clearly define the “why” behind your choices and decisions?  Or are you in a rut, merely drifting along, without any real focused purpose and direction? Are you settling for less than your heart’s desire?  Are you taking the easy way out instead of the inspired way up?

Is there something stirring inside you, nudging you to seek something else, something better, something more for your life?  Do you have a vague, uneasy feeling that life holds something qualitatively different than what you’re experiencing, and yet you are missing it?  And that you aren’t quite sure what it is, or how to grasp it; still you sense that it is out there, just beyond your reach?

Our world is in turmoil, and a lot of what we as Baby Boomers were taught, and accepted, is now obsolete.  Systems we thought were inviolate have been corrupted; and institutions we trusted have betrayed all that was decent and de rigueur.  Our sensibilities tell us that things are not right and yet knowing what is off kilter – and what to do about it – eludes us.  We still want to believe, to have trust, and hold fast to the hope that things will turn around, will be restored.

Yet, at our very core, we know that our homeostatic balance has been disrupted; and we can neither deny nor defy the reality of this without costs and consequences. The world and ways of our childhood are gone forever, and the landscape we inhabit is a much harsher place than we were led to believe.

There are more perils to be sure, and yet more promise, as well.  We can stay in our vague discontent as the global financial crisis deepens; or we can read the signs, prepare for what lies ahead, and seize the opportunities that the complete upset holds.  We can be upbeat throughout the coming months and years, if we position ourselves now.

One of the most vital things to remember is that we have freedom of choice.  We can employ volition and summon the courage to get out of our comfort zone, and educate ourselves.  We can make excuses, or we can make exquisite choices to enrich and empower our lives, and help lift up the lives of others.  It is not too late, we are not too old, and it is not too difficult.  If we have even a vague awareness, the tiniest stirrings of desire, the faintest vision, this is the beginning.  Napoleon Hill asserted this powerful observation, “Whatever you can conceive or believe you can achieve.”  This is not some type of wishful thinking or some pie in the sky idea.  It is based on his life’s work and has been demonstrated over and over again.  To put it another way, Henry Ford said, “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”

I have spent a lot of quality time with these quotes and believe them to be thoroughly and quite literally true.  If one grasps not only the truth of this, but the power of it as well, then one is deliciously free to forge a finer and much fuller future.  You can embolden your heart, re-invigorate your intellect, rebuild your stock portfolio; and get back in shape. It is possible; it is within reach, if the desire is within you.  As Napoleon Hill observes, “It takes half your life before you discover life is a do-it-yourself project.”  The time is now, the next move is yours.  You have the opportunity to make it a decisive one. And remember, there is no perfect time, there is only now.  Move boldly forward, for your new future impatiently awaits.
